Position Overview:
The Compliance Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of the compliance program within a Payment Service Provider (PSP) environment as well as onboarding MSBs, and acquiring banks. This includes staying current on relevant laws and regulations (e.g., AML/CFT, PSD2, GDPR, card scheme rules), managing risk assessments, and ensuring the organization adheres to internal policies and external regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the financial regulatory landscape.
Responsibilities within the team:

Stay up-to-date on international and local regulations affecting PSP, MSB, eCommerce (e.g., payment services directives, AML regulations, card network rules)

Conduct regular compliance risk assessments to identify gaps and recommend mitigation strategies

Draft, update, and enforce compliance policies and procedures (AML, KYC, sanctions screening, data protection, etc.)

Maintain and refine the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) frameworks, including customer onboarding processes, transaction monitoring, and enhanced due diligence (EDD)

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, customer support, product) to ensure seamless implementation of KYC/AML requirements

Conduct periodic compliance audits and investigations; coordinate with external auditors/regulatory bodies when necessary

Track and resolve compliance issues, preparing comprehensive incident reports and remedial action plans

Prepare and submit required regulatory filings, suspicious activity reports (SARs), and other compliance-related documentation on time

Serve as the primary point of contact for regulators, banks, and payment partners in matters related to compliance

Drafting and reviewing agreements with counterparties
Job requirements
Facing the challenges of the role requires:

Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree (e.g., in Compliance, Law, or Finance) is a plus

Professional compliance certifications (e.g., CAMS, ICA, CRCM) are highly desirable

Around 3 years of experience in a cmpliance, MSB, risk management, or regulatory role, preferably in a fintech, PSP, or banking environment.

Solid knowledge of AML/CFT regulations, KYC processes, payment services directives (PSD2), and other relevant financial regulatory requirements

Familiarity with card scheme rules (Visa, Mastercard) is beneficial

Strong analytical and investigative mindset

Excellent communication and report-writing skills

Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into practical business guidance

Proven track record of building and maintaining robust compliance frameworks

Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
